About
Suzie Wells loves researching and crafting features on local people, places, and events. She teaches college English when her schedule allows, helping the next generation hone their voices to tell their own stories. Suzie’s always up for a hike (even in rain or snow or hail – perhaps she should be a mail carrier) and adventures around town. Her three daughters keep her hopping, and you’ll often catch her snapping shots of the beauty and power of the natural world. She also enjoys sharing the voices of incredible authors through her passion project, Spirited Muse Press.

Kelly Homes

We spoke with Gisella “Gigi” Young, Director of Brand & Client Experience, to learn more about the philosophy behind Kelly Homes — a builder rooted in experience, driven by...

Buffalo Cherry Blossoms
In Japan, hanami, meaning “flower viewing,” is the centuries-old tradition of gathering beneath blooming cherry trees to appreciate their fleeting beauty. The blossoms, or sakura, symbolize renewal and the precious, passing nature of life. For a brief, luminous window, thousands of visitors spread blankets, stroll the winding paths, and look upward through canopies of petals. The blossoms’ short season is part of their magic. As Paula Hinz, co-founder of the annual Buffalo Cherry Blossom...

A Day in Youngstown
Small-Town Charm, Scenic Views & Hidden Gems There’s something undeniably special about Youngstown. Just ask Sue McNaughton, a lifelong resident and proud ambassador of the village, who says, “I love the village. This morning, I saw the usual group of men gathered on the porch of the coffee shop. One of them walked up the steps with a leaf blower—maybe the porch needed cleaning, or maybe he just wanted to show off his new toy? Then I headed into the Youngstown Diner and settled in at the...
