Rochester is known for its support of small businesses - and artists and thrifters certainly haven’t been forgotten about!
The Lucky Flea is an outdoor market located at 320 North Goodman Street where various artists, thrifters, and food vendors come together to sell their products to Rochester locals. Here, you’ll see a variety of items to buy, from handmade earrings and necklaces to photo prints and stickers to vintage lamps and clothing to upcycled sweatshirts and t-shirts. Each week, new vendors set up their tables and products, so there is plenty of differentiation in the items you’ll see available for purchase each week.
Art is all about expression, and you will certainly see handmade products at The Lucky Flea that reflect this. With clothing and accessories that celebrate women’s rights, reproductive rights, the LGBTQ+ community, and more, you’ll find a t-shirt, sweatshirt, pin, sticker, or decorative cup that speaks to you! The best part about these types of items is that you can wear or hold something that reflects your beliefs all while supporting someone who made it with their own two hands, and it doesn’t get better than that.
You’ll love the food, too. Between browsing booths, you can get a coffee, an iced matcha, a specialty ice cream sandwich, and many other rotating foods and drinks each week!
Many artists and thrifters with booths at The Lucky Flea are locals to Rochester. While some have been setting up their booths for years, there are also many new artists who try their hand at selling their handmade products, too! When you visit this unique market, you’ll find rows of booths with smiling, excited faces ready to talk to you about their craft. With such a fun and supportive environment, it’s no wonder this market has grown in the past year; they had to find a bigger space to accommodate all the weekly visitors after last summer’s smashing success!
You can check out local talent every Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM in the Neighborhood of the Arts and stay connected on Facebook and Instagram. If you’re an artist or avid thrifter yourself, you can fill out an application to be a vendor on www.theluckyflea.com. Whether you’re ready to sell your own items or support local Rochester artists and thrifters alike, visit The Lucky Flea as soon as you can!
